Position
Summary The Logistics and Materials Manager is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end flow of materials, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure the timely and cost-effective availability of materials required to support manufacturing and customer requirements. This position oversees material planning, purchasing coordination, inventory control, warehousing, transportation, import/export activities, and supplier performance.
The role is responsible for optimizing inventory levels, improving material flow, reducing logistics costs, and ensuring high levels of customer and operational service. The Logistics and Materials Manager works closely with Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Maintenance, Finance, and Sales to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
The position also leads continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply chain efficiency, and operational excellence, while ensuring compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, and quality standards.
The adecuado candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to develop and lead high-performing teams. 1.0 OBJECTIVES
Establish guidelines and responsibilities for the strategic and operational management of logistics, purchasing and material control processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance and meeting the company's needs.
2.0 SCOPE
It applies to the supervision of all activities related to materials management, including:
- National and international purchases;
- Inventory and warehouse control;
- Management of materials sent to workshops;
- Internal and external transport and logistics.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Management: Plan and optimize logistics, purchasing and warehouse processes.

Operational Supervision: Monitor the execution of the activities of stockists, drivers and buyers.
3.
Team Management: Lead, train, and evaluate the team to ensure high performance.
4.
Financial Control: Monitor operating costs and seek efficiency in processes.
5.
Compliance and Auditing: Ensuring that processes are in compliance with internal and external standards.
6.
Continuous Improvement: Implement actions to optimize processes and reduce waste.

5.0 RECORDS AND CONTROL
- Continuous monitoring of purchasing, inventory and logistics processes.
- Analysis of management reports to support decision making.
- Registration of all operations in the EAM system for traceability. Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred (Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Business Administration, International Business / International Trade or similar), with a technical degree a strong plus
Supply Chain professional + 5-10 years of experience + advanced English proficiency + strong ERP/MRP knowledge + experience in logistics, inventory, and materials management + team leadership skills + Lean knowledge + strong analytical and strategic capabilities.
The position is for a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) manufacturing company, ideally also include experience with manufacturing operations, production planning, BOM management, supplier development, international supply chains, and aerospace or aviation industry requirements
Must have strong leadership skills, though aptitude would be considered
English spoken/written is strongly preferred, French is a plus
Must have strong communication skills and judgment, with the ability to keep management informed and to know, with training, when to escalate a problem or issue Must be accessible via phone for emergencies
Strong Microsoft Office Skills including Excel and PowerPoint
5S (or equivalent) experience for floor organization
