Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List the major or most important job duties. What contribution does this job make towards the business?):

- Drive improvements in all related manufacturing processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface and product quality.
- Responsible for all associated metrics management, financial management, staffing, leadership, strategic development and execution, process development, product support and new process development/qualification.
- Involved with production and materials functions, as well as customer service and support processes.
- Through partnerships with production personnel, ensure the required technical support for all critical process and product issue resolution.
- Provide technical direction to engineers for all product builds and process operations.
- Act as a leader, strategic thinker and problem solver, combining detailed technical knowledge with business functions and operations management.
- Well‑organized, disciplined and self‑motivated with the capability to balance multiple priorities related to operations and organization.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal company personnel and customers.

Additional Responsibilities

- Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
- Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
- Confer with management and production to discuss project specifications or procedures.
- Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
- Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
- Participate actively in VOS activities.

- Manufacturing Engineers

Interactions

- Contact with production managers and supervisors.
- Day‑to‑day interaction between all functional groups, products and production managers.
- Occasional contact with all internal Liebert groups, purchasing, receiving, etc.
- Frequent communication with other Liebert Engineering groups and outsourced Engineering groups.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

- Knowledge of UPS products.
- Proficient with a personal computer and various applications programs, i.e. spreadsheets, CAD, word processing, communications, etc.
- Team player able to work on multiple projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
