Job Summary
8 hour work day. Preferably in Mexico City area. Would like a hire to overlap/train before our incumbent rolls off the project end of August.
Regarding the senior it would be similar but not leading the team however some mentoring of a junior offshore team member would be required.
Responsibilities
1. Performance Test Scripting
- Strong experience with JMeter scripting.
- Ability to write or debug custom scripts using Groovy and JavaScript.
- Experience with correlation, parameterization, assertions, timers, controllers, reusable functions and custom logic.
- Ability to troubleshoot script failures dynamic values authentication, cookies, headers and session handling.
2. Workload Modeling and Test Design
- Ability to analyze business flows and design realistic workload models.
- Experience designing load, stress, endurance, spike and scalability tests.
- Ability to calculate user load, TPS or TPM pacing, think time, ramp up and transaction mix based on production usage.
- Experience validating test data readiness and environment readiness.
3. Production Log and Traffic Analysis
- Ability to analyze production logs and traffic patterns to identify peak usage transaction volume, error trends and response time behavior.
- Experience using production metrics to create accurate performance test scenarios.
- Ability to compare production behavior with test environment results.
4. Monitoring and Observability
- Hands‑on experience with Datadog, AppDynamics and Kibana.
- Ability to monitor application API, JVM/.NET, IIS, database, container and infrastructure metrics.
- Experience identifying bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, GC, thread pools, connection pools, database queries, downstream services, cache and network latency.
- Ability to correlate JMeter results with monitoring tool metrics.
5.
AWS or Cloud or Container Monitoring
- Experience monitoring applications hosted on AWS cloud platforms.
- Understanding of containers, Kubernetes or ECS or EKS, pods, services, nodes, CPU or memory limits, autoscaling and cloud infrastructure behavior.
- Ability to analyze container‑level performance issues and work with DevOps teams.
6. Distributed Testing Setup
- Experience setting up and executing distributed performance tests.
- Good understanding of load generators, controller, agent setup, firewall or port issues, data file distribution, result collection and capacity planning.
- Ability to debug common distributed testing challenges such as connectivity issues, file path issues, permission issues, resource saturation and inconsistent results.
7. Performance Analysis and Reporting
- Ability to analyze response times, throughput, error percentage, percentiles, saturation points and bottlenecks.
- Strong skills in preparing clear observations and recommendations.
- Ability to explain performance findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with development, infrastructure, database, DevOps and application teams for root‑cause analysis.
8. Leadership and Communication
- Should be able to lead performance testing activities independently.
- Should have strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams.
- Should be proactive in identifying risks, blockers, environment issues and test data gaps.
- Should be able to mentor junior performance testers if needed.
