Trim Engineer-Entry Level

Job Description

Education

Last Semester of Engineering, Textiles, Industrial Design, etc. (or other suitable technical degree preferred).

Experience

None to 1 year job related experience (Preferable).

Technical Skills

- Willing to develop ability on
- Seat Patterning – Able to complete seat patterns
- Understanding and applying one or more basic problem‑solving techniques (e.g., BEP, Kepner–Tregoe, Six Sigma, etc.) to help solve a real‑world issue
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and requirements of a Trim Cover
- Understanding and basic operation of seat equipment used in trim cover manufacturing (NC Cutter, sewing machines, etc.)
- Trim cover sewing safety requirements within a trim cover
- Standard components used within a trim cover
- Knowledge of material specifications and guidelines (cloth, leather,



vinyl, etc.)
- Understanding of 2D component and product drawings
- Change management and BOM control
- Proficiency in trim cover development from a 2D or 3D information source (e.g., drawings or CAD)
- Basic understanding of 3D CAD models and vehicle environments
