Ascension Christian School is a multi-campus, accredited, S.T.E.M. school located in Gonzales, Louisiana. Our focus on continuous school improvement coupled with a rich Christian culture has been the cornerstone for the accentuated growth of our early learning center (pre-K), elementary (K4-6), and high school campuses. General Description: Extended care child team members are responsible for the safety and care of children during after care, as well as during holiday and summer camps. The job duties include, but are not limited to the ones indicated below.

The team member will be expected to:

Communication

- Greet every parent and child as they are being picked up.
- Communicate with management about students.
- Identify signs of student concerns and bring them to management's attention.
- Report any broken equipment and toys to management.
- Complete accident/incident reports as instructed by management.
- Monitor the health of children and report physical signs of illness/injury to management.
- Treat children, parents, coworkers, and supervisors with dignity and respect.




- Appropriately record and report behavior concerns to management.

Safety

- Ensure that every child is signed out upon pickup.
- Verify that adults picking up children are authorized to do so.

- Maintain a safe play environment.
- Supervise children to ensure their well-being at all times.
- Arrange childcare settings to ensure the cleanliness and physical safety of children.

Planning/Preparation

- Cleans toys, play equipment, and areas occupied during extended care periods.
- Maintain an orderly environment by neatly storing toys and materials in the designated location.
- Plan, organize, and participate in recreational activities and outings, such as games and field trips.
- Perform cleaning duties.

General

- Assist in the distribution of meals and/or snacks as expected.
- Instruct children in healthy, safe, and respectful behavior.
- Monitor children with homework during study hall.
- Guide children to make wise choices and how to resolve difficult situations.
- Model, guide, and train new team members.

Professional

- Show up to work on time and notify management by phone prior to the absence.
- Follow the required dress code as expected.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Attend monthly staff meetings routinely.
- Meet expectations of management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
