Are you ready to pioneer the next generation of software development by creating the front-end design system for all Trimble products? This is a pivotal opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Modus Design System team, where you will be instrumental in crafting high-quality, accessible Modus Web Components using modern tools like StencilJS and Tailwind CSS. Join us in accelerating platform adoption across Trimble by building and supporting an enterprise‑scale design system that fuels innovation for hundreds of applications.
What Makes This Role Great
In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing the Modus Design System, directly influencing the user experience of hundreds of applications and shaping the future of AI‑native engineering across Trimble.
Key Exciting Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality Modus Web Components for the Modus design system, leveraging modern component creation frameworks like StencilJS and styling utilities like Tailwind CSS.
- Implement and enforce AI‑native development processes by leveraging the existing rules and skills configured within the Modus MCP Server to generate high-quality production code from Figma designs.
- Ensure all components meet rigorous standards for accessibility (WCAG 2.2), internationalization (I18N), and responsive design.
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automated documentation generation (Storybook) for the component library.
- Enforce best practices in version control (Git), code reviews,
and adherence to design patterns and atomic design principles.
- Actively participate in and contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies to ensure project alignment and technical excellence.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience: 3‑5 years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record in component library creation or design system development.
- Web Component Expertise: Strong proficiency in building Native Web Components using frameworks like StencilJS or Lit, and deep understanding of modern CSS/styling (e.g., Tailwind CSS/DaisyUI).
- AI Native Development: Practical experience with AI‑assisted code generation processes, specifically configuring systems like the Modus MCP Server (or similar tools) using rules and skills to generate components.
- Frontend Mastery: Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and familiarity with component integrations for major frameworks (such as React, Angular, Vue, etc).
- Design Systems: Deep familiarity with atomic design principles and contributing to or maintaining a large‑scale design system.
