C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Specialist to strengthen workplace practices and support employees and leaders across Mexico and South America. In this role, you will advise on complex employee relations matters, lead workplace investigations, guide performance and corrective-action processes, and advance compliance initiatives aligned with local employment laws and business needs.

You will serve as a trusted regional expert, using data and cross-functional partnerships to reduce risk, improve processes, and enhance the employee experience.

In this role, you will engage with peers on-site three days a week, igniting creativity and driving impactful results. With the flexibility for remote work two days a week, this role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy.

Responsibilities

- Advise employees, managers, and executives on complex employee relations matters, employment laws, company policies, and performance management practices
- Lead fair, thorough, and well‑documented workplace investigations, recommend appropriate actions, and influence outcomes aligned with legal requirements and company practices
- Guide coaching, corrective action, discipline, and termination processes, including severance calculations, to ensure consistency, compliance, and sound business decisions
- Draft, review, and maintain employment-related documents in accordance with company policies, benefits, and applicable laws
- Monitor federal and local employment regulations, assess organizational impact, and lead required policy or process changes
- Partner with internal and external legal counsel on government claims, state information requests, conciliation hearings, and labor‑related matters
- Analyze employee relations case data to identify trends, mitigate risk, strengthen the employee experience, and develop proactive workplace strategies
- Lead regional compliance initiatives, required reporting, assessments,



and process improvement projects that support business objectives
- Serve as a regional employee relations subject matter expert and contribute functional expertise to cross‑functional projects
- Advance globally consistent employee relations practices while accounting for local labor laws, regulatory requirements, and cultural expectations

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Employee Relations
- Ability to travel up to 5%; domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

- Fluency in written and verbal communication in Portuguese
- Ability to develop strong relationships and partner with managers, executives, and other Human Resources departments
- Proven conflict resolution skills
- Strong influencing skills and business savvy
- High degree of confidentiality
- Analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision making
- Ability to create new or review and update existing processes
- Ability to make recommendations at all levels of the organization
- Understanding of employment regulation and how to apply law to company policy
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation/communication proficiency
- Strong problem solving/critical thinking skills
- Project management experience
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
