Senior Power BI Developer

​​​​ ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Developer / Technical Lead to design, develop, and optimize enterprise BI solutions in a Google BigQuery environment. The adecuado candidate combines deep technical expertise in Power BI—from development and data modeling to administration and governance—with hands-on experience integrating BigQuery and a proven record migrating Tableau dashboards to Power BI. In addition to technical delivery, this role involves leading BI teams, mentoring developers, and championing best practices across the full analytics stack.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Design & Development

- Lead the design and development of Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic data models.
- Implement best practices for data modeling, DAX calculations, and Power Query (M) transformations.
- Ensure scalability and performance optimization for large, complex datasets.

Google BigQuery Integration
- Connect and optimize Power BI with Google BigQuery for enterprise-scale analytics.
- Implement efficient query strategies and cost-optimization practices within BigQuery.

Tableau-to-Power BI Migration
- Drive end-to-end migration projects from Tableau to Power BI, ensuring feature parity and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate migrated dashboards and reports.

Administration & Governance
- Manage Power BI Service administration: workspace governance, row-level security (RLS), and capacity planning.




- Monitor platform usage and implement compliance and data governance frameworks.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Mentor and guide BI developers on technical best practices and quality standards.
- Partner with business teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable BI insights.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and BI solution architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in Tableau-to-Power BI migration projects.
- Experience administering Power BI Service, including governance, security, and capacity management.

Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Gateway.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional data modeling principles.
- Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and SQL query optimization.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and its integration with Power BI (required; depth of experience is a key differentiator).

Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and ensure delivery quality.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Power BI Embedded for custom application integrations.
- Familiarity with DevOps for BI: CI/CD pipelines for Power BI deployments.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Platform and hybrid cloud environments.
- Exposure to data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, data warehousing, lakehouse architectures).
