**What You’ll Do**
The Provenir AI team is responsible for all things data, analytics, and ML/AI at Provenir. At the forefront of AI-powered analytics, we’re driving the charge towards a future where AI data-fueled decisioning reshapes industries, propels social impact, and advances financial accessibility.
Our global and diverse team is seeking an enthusiastic Data Scientist who can design and build solutions that will be used in many markets around the world. Our idóneo team member will have a unique, creative and curious mindset to understand customer problems with the technical expertise to implement their ideas.
In this role, you will have access to a variety of data sources to create and validate AI and ML models. Use cases include models to fraud prevention, credit risk management and financial inclusion.
**Your Responsibilities**
- Identify and source relevant data to build,
calibrate and deploy state-of-the-art models using the latest AI/ML technologies and methods.
- Determine patterns of potential fraud and conceptualize ways to detect anomalies.
- Understand the problems of our clients and customers to build industry-first products that promote financial inclusion across the world.
- Partner with our Engineering team to support implementation in our AWS platform
- Claim end-to-end ownership of your models and solutions: from ideation to implementation
- While working in a fast-paced environment, interpret, document and successfully communicate solutions to stakeholders, including those in non-technical and senior management roles.
- Be involved in the whole MLOps lifecycle, including everything from root cause analysis, data collection and feature engineering to training, validating and implementing machine learning models, computing performance statistics and live model monitoring.
- Support the Sales and Operations teams in managing technical client queries through a deep knowledge of our product suite.
- Use your local knowledge of Latin America markets to support new product launches in the region.
**Your Strengths and Skills**️**
- You have at least 3 years experience in a data science role, including hands-on experience in developing supervised and unsupervised advanced machine learning algorithms.
- You have strong data wrangling and manipulation skills for merging, cleansing, and sampling data
- You can collaborate asynchronously within a globally-distributed Scrum team.
- You actively participate in team meetings and can clearly and concisely articulate.
- You enjoy working in an agile, rapid development and prototyping environment.
- You will take initiative, learn quickly and are able to adapt to shifting priorities.
Although not essential, it would be great if you also have any of these strengths,
- You have domain experience in Fraud, Credit Risk Management or Marketing analytics.
- You have B2B client-facing experience, where you can talk confidently about ML products
- You follow best practices across the MLOps lifecycle (e.g. CI/CD, pipeline orchestration and containerization).
- You have hands-on experience with any of our tools (AWS, Metaflow, Java, GitHub, Jira, Miro).
