**Job Summary**:
The **Engineer V** applies **extensive and diversified knowledge** of principles and practices across broad areas of assignments and related fields. This role utilizes **advanced techniques** to modify or extend **theories** and practices in **sciences and disciplines** to complete assignments. The Engineer V will work on **major projects** or multiple projects of **moderate scope** with **complex features**.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
- **CAD Design**: Utilize **Computer-Aided Design (CAD)** software to create detailed **drawings, plans**, and **layouts** for rail infrastructure and related components.
- ** Technical Support**: Collaborate with **a team of engineers** to provide **technical support** in the development of rail projects, ensuring design meets **quality** and **client standards**.
- ** Data Analysis**:Collect** and **analyze data** relevant to rail projects.
- ** Collaboration**: Work closely with **cross-functional teams**, including engineers and project managers,



to ensure **seamless project execution** and **compliance** with design requirements.
- ** Quality Assurance**: Participate in **quality assurance** and **quality control** activities to ensure designs are **error-free** and meet client standards.
- ** Mentorship**: Act as a **mentor** to **junior engineers** and **designers**, providing **guidance** and support to promote their **professional growth**.
- ** Other Duties**: Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs.
**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**:
- Effective **oral** and **written communication skills (both English and Spanish)**:
- Ability to **interact** with other staff
- Attend **project meetings** and present specific aspects of engineering assignments
**Required Education and Experience**:
- **Bachelor’s degree** in engineering from an **ABET/EAC accredited program**:
- ** 8+ years** of prior experience
**Preferred Education and Experience**:
- **Master’s degree** or equivalent
- Engaged in **life-long learning** to maintain knowledge of **contemporary issues**:
- Experience producing **drawings** with **CAD software**:
- Experience **leading technical discipline teams**




**Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.**:
- **Professional Engineer (PE)**:
- Member of a **professional practice organization**, **national board member** or officer, or **national technical or policy committee member**
**Supervisory Responsibilities**:
- **Supervise** all staff necessary to complete assignments
- ** Review** and **approve scopes, budgets**, and **schedules** for assignments
- ** Prepare proposals** to provide professional services
