General Summary Leads the plant team for a program, product or process launch. Responsible for all plant tasks, deliverables, and events via the Plant team. Works closely with the Program Manager and the rest of the Program Team (PT). Functions as Program Manager for internal plant projects and regional programs for those programs of limited scope and complexity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leads a cross‑functional plant-based program team, coordinating tooling, process, quality, operations, manufacturing engineering, and materials/logistics analysts.
Executes all plant tasks and deliverables for new product launches, including tool release, purchase, installation, commissioning, run‑at‑rate, hiring/training, PPAPs, supplier readiness reviews, and meeting all customer requirements and MRDs.
Represents the plant team as the lead manufacturing member of the Program Team, interfacing with Program Manager, Program Engineer, Program Buyer, Account Manager, and Cost Analyst.
Ensures program timing requirements for the total program, with a special focus on plant tasks and deliverables.
Conducts gap analysis and creates roadmaps for plant financial targets (material, scrap, production cycle time, capital investment) and meets all operational financial targets.
Provides operations support for product builds, testing, process optimization, run‑at‑rate events, and variation studies.
Maintains customer satisfaction through response time, product quality, on‑time delivery, communication, and quality systems.
When functioning as the Program Manager, meets all additional requirements of that role.
Ensures housekeeping, health & safety standards, and regulatory compliance are maintained.
Participates actively in continuous improvement tasks per established plans.




Implements lean savings and continuous‑improvement/cost‑saving methodologies, leading 3P events to ensure methodology adoption.
Evaluates gap analysis and roadmaps to achieve plant financial goals for new products, including production control, logistics, scrap, labor, launch cost budget, margin, and VCM.
Ensures 6σ, safety, and environmental standards for new launch projects.
Executes LPA on time, including LPA’s from direct reporters.
Leads cross‑functional engineering and plant departments to achieve 0‑0‑100‑100‑30 launch metrics (0 safety incidents, 0 customer rejections, 100% on‑time delivery, 100% charter metric achievement through 30 days of launch).
Ensures lessons learned are implemented and considered on all new launches.
Adheres to authority and responsibilities per the FTM‑EHS‑12 matrix and ISO 14001/45001, and complies with IATF 16949 adopted standards.
Required Education, Experience, and Knowledge Education: Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
