Job Summary
The Collections Specialist is responsible for contacting customers with overdue balances and securing payments in a professional, clear, and results-driven manner. This role requires consistency, strong communication skills, timely follow-up, and the ability to meet weekly recovery and productivity goals while maintaining a respectful and solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to customers with delinquent accounts to recover outstanding payments.
- Manage assigned accounts by providing continuous and timely follow-up.
- Clearly explain account balances, payment options, and next steps to customers.
- Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining professionalism and compliance.
- Accurately document all customer interactions and payment updates in internal systems.
- Meet or exceed weekly productivity, call volume, and recovery targets.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors and the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure performance standards are met.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and customer-focused attitude at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in collections, call centers,



or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to complete internal training provided by the Client Services team.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter data into internal systems.
**Required Skills**:
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain sensitive financial information.
- High level of comfort with repetitive outbound calling.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
- Ability to remain calm, persistent, and solution-oriented in challenging conversations.
