Overview

This request is to fill a replacement Occupational Health Doctor position to ensure business continuity for the EHS, Quality & Security function in Mexico. This specialist role is integral to maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of employees in compliance with both corporate standards and local regulations. To support this objective, the position focuses on three core areas: direct clinical services for work-related health issues, proactive health surveillance and preventative program management, and regulatory compliance and administration. This structure ensures both reactive care and strategic risk mitigation are effectively managed. Given the focus on specialized occupational medicine, the adecuado candidate will be a licensed Doctor of Medicine with extensive experience in a corporate or industrial setting. Expertise in managing complex cases, developing health programs, and navigating Mexican health and labor regulations is essential for success in this subject matter expert role.

Responsibilities

- 50% Occupational Health Services

Diagnose and treat work-related illnesses and injuries, providing immediate and follow-up care to employees.

Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and fitness-for-duty medical examinations to assess employee health status and work capability.

Provide emergency medical response, triage, and first aid for workplace incidents, including performing minor procedures like laceration repair.

Manage complex workers' compensation and disability cases, acting as the medical liaison between the employee, company, and insurance providers.

Design, implement, and manage medical surveillance programs based on workplace risk assessments (e.g.,



exposure to noise, chemicals, ergonomic stressors).

Develop and lead health education, wellness, and preventative care initiatives to promote employee well-being and reduce occupational health risks.

Analyze occupational health data and trends to identify emerging risks, report on key metrics, and recommend control measures to management.

Oversee workplace infection control protocols and advise on public health issues affecting the employee population.

- 20% Compliance & Administration

Ensure all occupational health activities strictly comply with Mexican legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., STPS, IMSS).

Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure employee medical records in accordance with ethical standards and data privacy laws.

Serve as the subject matter expert on occupational medicine, providing guidance and coaching to EHS staff, HR, and line managers.

Contribute to the development and review of corporate health and safety policies and procedures.

Certifications

- Valid Medical License to practice in Mexico
- Board Certification in Occupational Medicine (or national equivalent)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- ACLS
- ISO 45001

Education

- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree is required.
- Specialization or postgraduate degree in Occupational Health, Public Health, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Recognized subject matter expert with extensive experience (typically 8+ years) as an Occupational Health Physician, preferably in an industrial or corporate environment.
- Proven experience managing complex medical cases and health programs with a high degree of autonomy.
