Field Service Engineer – Automation

Location: Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico

Welite is looking for a Field Service Engineer – Automation to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and connectivity of industrial machinery at customer facilities in Mexico and abroad.

The position combines field service with light automation and machine-connectivity projects involving PLCs, HMIs, MES, sensors, industrial networks, data acquisition, machine vision, and industrial AI applications.

- Install, commission, calibrate, test, and validate industrial machinery.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, HMI, software, and communication issues.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Program, modify, troubleshoot, and back up PLC and HMI applications.
- Install sensors, PLC I/O, gateways, communication modules, and data-acquisition devices.
- Connect existing machinery to industrial networks and monitoring platforms.
- Perform basic electrical-panel modifications and machine retrofits.
- Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on equipment operation, safety, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Prepare service reports,



commissioning records, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate technical activities with customers, suppliers, and international engineering teams.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in field service, commissioning, industrial automation, machinery maintenance, or integration.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servo drives, variable-frequency drives, and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of industrial Ethernet, IP addressing, switches, gateways, and machine connectivity.
- Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Intermediate English.
- Valid driver’s license, passport, and U.S. visa.
- Availability to travel approximately 60% of the time within Mexico and internationally. Travel assignments may range from a few days to continuous periods of up to one month.
- Based in Leon or willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with machine vision, industrial cameras, SCADA, MES, data acquisition, or industrial AI applications.
- Knowledge of PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Profibus, or similar protocols.
- Experience in the automotive, wire-harness, or industrial-machinery industries.
