- Design and release assembly, test, and rework fixtures for production line transfer and sustaining manufacturing
- Develop error‑proofing and detection devices (poka‑yoke, gauges, go/no‑go tools) to prevent defects
- Translate assembly process requirements into robust, manufacturable fixture designs
- Drive fixture improvements for quality, repeatability, ergonomics, and operator safety
- Support rapid fixture iterations during line ramp‑up and issue resolution
- Coordinate with internal machine shops and external tooling suppliers
- Validate and approve fixtures prior to production release
- Maintain fixture drawings, documentation, and revision control
- Improve fixture cost, lead time, and standardization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3–7 years of experience designing fixtures or tooling for manufacturing environments
- Experience with electromechanical or cable assembly fixtures
- Proficiency in 3D CAD and technical drawing creation
- Strong understanding of assembly processes, tolerances, and shop‑floor execution
- Knowledge of material types for different applications, including consideration for stress, durability, and product integrity
