Ensure that mechanical designs comply with geometric tolerance standards, guaranteeing functionality, proper assembly, product quality, and optimization of manufacturing costs.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply GD&T; standards in accordance with ASME Y14.5, ISO 1101, and related norms.
- Analyze technical drawings and 3D models to validate dimensional and geometric specifications.
- Define functional tolerances based on design and manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve dimensional issues.
- Perform stack‑up analyses (tolerance accumulation studies).
- Support dimensional validations using CMM and other measuring equipment.
- Participate in root cause analyses related to dimensional failures.
- Train technical personnel in print reading and GD&T; interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Mechanical,
Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.
- 2-5 years in drawing interpretation and application of GD&T; in a manufacturing environment.
- ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Dimensional metrology.
- CMM operation.
- CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, etc.).
- Basic statistical analysis (SPC).
