Job Type: Contract,Fully Remote

Pay: $30,000 - $33,000 Mexican Pesos per Month

Reports To: Chief Commercial Officer and Associate Director – Commercial & Operations

Job Summary: We are seeking a fully bilinqual (Spanish and English), highly organized, detail-oriented Booking Department Executive to coordinate and manage container freight bookings from locations in North America and Latin America for our non-ferrous metal scrap shipments. The adecuado candidate will handle pre-trade quotes for containerized sea freight, drayage, and trucking rates, and post-trade booking arrangements with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and trucking companies, ensuring competitive pricing that protects traders' margins and the timely, efficient transportation of goods.

Pan American Zinc handles the shipment of approximately 250 containers per month, trading with over 30 countries (more than 70 countries combined with its French parent company).

Key Responsibilities:

- Request shipping rates from freight forwarders and shipping lines at the request of traders in support of daily trading activities.
- Maintain a monthly database of regularly trafficked rates.
- Coordinate sea-going container bookings with shipping lines and freight forwarders for international shipments, including multimodal shipments involving truck, rail, or barge transport for the initial leg.
- Monitor and manage shipping schedules to ensure on-time delivery of goods.




- Maintain communication with internal teams (especially the trading team and documentation team), shipping lines, and freight forwarders to provide up-to-date shipment information.
- Resolve booking issues and manage delays or disruptions in coordination with relevant stakeholders, and/or communicate issues effectively and in a timely manner to find the best solutions.
- Negotiate rates and terms with shipping lines and forwarders to ensure cost-effective logistics solutions.
- Maintain records of all bookings, shipments, and related documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Stay up to date with market trends, port conditions, and international shipping regulations.

Skills & Attributes for Success:

- Experience in Logistics/Shipping: Proven experience in sea freight logistics, ideally within the metals or commodities sector.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple bookings and schedules efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in booking arrangements and pricing to avoid delays or financial discrepancies.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Confidence and resourcefulness in addressing shipment delays and other logistical challenges in a time-sensitive environment.
- Negotiation Skills: Able to negotiate favorable rates and conditions with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communicator with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders. Responsiveness to traders,



suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping lines a must.
- Knowledge of International Shipping Regulations: Familiarity with INCOTERMS, customs requirements, and shipping documentation. Ability and willingness to learn and stay up to date with shipping requirements and regulatory changes in various origin and destination markets.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other relevant tools for tracking and documentation. EXCEL, Smart Sheets, and any ERP are a plus.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or shipping coordination. References requested.
- Knowledge of sea freight operations and documentation.
- Experience in non-ferrous metal scrap movement or commodities trading is a plus.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
- Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
