Summary
Manages operational systems, inspection operations, and continuous improvement projects. Promotes a disciplined operational culture and develops improvement strategies to support business objectives. Works cross-functionally to plan, execute, and sustain business process improvements.
Key Responsibilities and Main Activities:
- Make requirements for the necessary tools for new products.
- Evaluate and certify new processes and equipment
- Develop documentation for new products.
- Review and verify vigente standards and system.
- Support the production department.
- Work with other departments to develop and implement improvements to processes and systems.
- Analyze data for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Participate in plant layout.
- Provide information on the manufacture of new products and assist with their introduction to the facility.
- Respond to RFQ’s.
- Review unique customer requirements to determine feasibility and capability.
- Generate bills of materials and manage the cutting ticket system.
- Coordinate the assembly construction, electrical testing program processes.
- Implement strategies and technical solutions in the production of a product, provision of a service, making it faster, easier and reducing costs.
- Conduct research and implement programs to determine optimal inventory levels for production that lead to optimized use of machinery, materials, and resources.
- Measure reliability in the performance of plant facilities and production and administrative systems.
Establish programs and lines of research that allow for increased safety and health at work or identify and correct fire threats, among others.
- Inspect and evaluate industrial facilities, review machinery with the objective of selecting efficient combinations.
- Design, develop and carry out studies regarding management time and programs for simplifying tasks.
- Develop flexible or integrated production systems and procedures.
- Analyze production costs.
- Determine the human resources and skills required for the development of training programs in order to increase production and create performance standards, evaluation systems and salary incentives.
- Obtain quotes, establish suppliers and manage the implementation of new projects.
- Increase profitability, service vocation and the quality of products and services by reducing costs.
- Use mathematical methods and models to design production and information systems that satisfy customer needs more efficiently.
- Supervise Technicians, Technologists, Analysts, administrative staff and other Engineers.
- Train, as necessary, Assemblers, Quality Control Assistants and Technicians regarding procedures, equipment and documentation.
Daily Tasks
Evaluate the most efficient way to manufacture products or provide services; study and review production schedules, technical specifications, process flows, and other information in order to understand manufacturing methods and activities and other services. Create control systems to solve production problems and minimize costs. Work with the client and the management team to develop design and production standards. Design control systems to coordinate the planning of activities and production to ensure that both products and services meet quality standards.
Meet with clients to establish product specifications; with vendors to coordinate purchases; with the management team to determine production capacity; and with other staff to update project status.
Experience/Skills
- Knowledge in Wire Harness Industry a must.
- A Bachelor's degree in Admin./Industrial Engineering or related is required.
- A minimum of three (5) years of experience in a similar position is required.
- Experience in operations management.
- Knowledge/experience in supply chain.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 standard.
- Knowledge of QMS.
- Knowledge of coretools.
