The Role
As a Mainframe Systems Administrator, you will manage, support, and optimize z/OS and z/VM environments to ensure high system availability, operational stability, and compliance with enterprise standards. You will proactively monitor system health, coordinate patching activities, and use mainframe management tools to analyze performance and resolve incidents that impact on critical business operations.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to implement best practices, support audits and compliance requirements, and maintain accurate system documentation. Your work will help ensure reliable and secure mainframe platforms that support mission‑critical workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure system availability by proactively monitoring and supporting z/OS and z/VM mainframe environments.
- Maintain patch compliance, coordinating system updates and changes to minimize business impact and downtime.
- Use mainframe management tools to analyze performance, identify risks, and resolve incidents effectively.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business operations and implement operational best practices.
- Document system changes and maintain accurate records to support audits, compliance, and governance requirements.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting z/OS and z/VM systems in mainframe environments.
- Proficiency in z/OS and z/VM administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience using mainframe management tools for monitoring, performance analysis, and incident resolution.
- Familiarity with patch management, incident response, and compliance processes.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Intermediate English proficiency, required for technical documentation, communication with general teams, and incident reporting.
- Experience working in regulated or large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL‑based incidents and change management practices.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across infrastructure, application, and operations teams.
