What will you do?
- As an Electromechanical Design Intern , you will actively support the development of innovative Low Voltage Equipment by transforming customer and technical requirements into effective design solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting new product development activities from concept through validation by applying design thinking , design for manufacturing , and validation methodologies
- Creating and modifying parametric 3D models and technical drawings for electro‑mechanical equipment using Creo Parametric , following Schneider Electric design standards and best practices
- Assisting in the design and detailing of sheet metal parts and electro‑mechanical assemblies
- Supporting tolerance analysis and basic design validation to ensure product performance, quality, and reliability
- Applying GD&T; principles and manufacturability concepts to support robust designs
- Participating in prototype builds, testing activities, and test result analysis
- Collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Industrialization, Quality, Purchasing, and Production Plants
- Supporting documentation and data analysis using Excel and automation tools when needed

Who will you report to?
- You will report to an Engineering Manager within the R&D; Engineering Department . This is an individual contributor internship role , where you will work closely with:
- Project Design Leaders and Design Engineers
- Cross‑functional partners across Industrialization, Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing
You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team environment that encourages learning, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- To succeed and grow in this internship, the following qualifications will support your impact:
- Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering (7th or 8th semester)
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical design fundamentals
- Academic or hands‑on experience with CAD tools , preferably Creo Parametric / Pro‑E
- Basic understanding of electromechanical systems , materials, and component selection
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, and customer‑focused mindset
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including business‑level English
Additional experience with PLM tools (Windchill/PDM), GD&T;, or Excel automation is a plus and will further support success in the role.
- Graduation date December 2027 or later (MUST)
- Location: PIIT (Apodaca)
