Responsibilities

- Be responsible for applying electrical engineering skills to SSLS products and solutions meeting project requirements.
- Fully understand Siemens medium voltage switchgear products and portfolios and apply electrical engineering knowledge in the products to fulfill customer project requirements.
- Be involved from offering stage technical review, engineering design concept development, to contract stage detailed engineering design, material preparation and other deliverables for production, to production stage supporting manufacturing, assembly, and factory testing, to dispatch documentation, and finally any after dispatch installation and site changes documentation.
- Act as a buffer and bridge for managers and group leaders (team leaders) to effectively manage the department.
- Electrical single line design and configuration review using various CAD/Engineering Base and other engineering tools to support PM for offering.
- Familiarity with electrical programming and commissioning procedures for medium voltage switchgear systems, especially for the Siemens Relay.
- Electrical schematics and wiring diagram design and drafting using various Engineering Base/ELCAD and in‑house tools and systems for production documentation.
- Delivery of production engineering inputs including engineering document release, electrical BOM preparation, assembly table and wiring information, and other essential engineering details necessary for production to ensure successful production of SSLS products.
- Technical discussion with customers and/or design institutes for project technical detail clarification and solution selection/verification to support SSLS from a technical point of view managing SSLS projects.
- Review technical specifications of various electrical equipment and components to provide relevant department for supplier chain management and component sourcing.




- Fault finding and analysis on relevant SSLS products to support customer services.
- Improve engineering design quality and design delivery reliability and efficiency.
- Improve SSLS product cost position by optimizing engineering design and component selection.
- Actively work with team leaders and managers to improve engineering systems including engineering process, standard engineering tools, embracing good engineering practices, and establishing a good working culture.
- Co‑ordinate EE project resource and delivery.
- Provide training, mentoring, and manage other electrical engineers.
- Perform other tasks/responsibilities assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in automation, or electrical engineering related.
- 10 years working experience in Power Distribution business or other manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Experience in Power Distribution business with knowledge of technology and Siemens scope of products/services.
- Understanding and experience of MV products, market requirements of them, and evaluation techniques which allow effective technical application.
- Knowledge of electrical protection and control including components and detailed application.
- Focus on project goal, innovation, and influences by others.
- Knowledge of product design variants including its application for selection e.g. standard/option.
- Knowledge of design software and techniques of drawings creation including data management for manufacturing.
- Knowledge of common standard (IEC/GB/DL) and requirement specification of MV product.
- Knowledge of MV tools such as Engineering Base, ELCAD, EPLAN, SAP, Nxtool, etc.
- Fluent in both verbal and written English.
- Strong logical thinking ability and pressure resistance.
- Ability to work in an intercultural environment with international teams and different company cultures.
