Lead designer position

The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

- Ability to work independently with mínimal engineering oversight
- Ability to create designs/drawings with mínimal engineering input.
- Ability to plan work independently.
- Knowledge of relatable engineering principals given their design expertise. Ability to lead design and drafting on small to mid-scale projects.
- Advanced CAD skills
- Advanced skills on CAD software such as CADWorx Civil 3D.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, civil, structural, and/or electrical drafting principles.
- Expert knowledge of company/client design standards (or ability to understand quickly).
- Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry required to perform calculations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**_
- The duties performed in this position include the following:

- Contributes to complex design aspects of a project. Generally independent and collaborative in nature.
- Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using complex CAD software, with no oversight.




- Prepares various drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, sketches with little to no oversight. pplies engineering principles to the design of piping structures and their components or assemblies with mínimal oversight.
- Prepares creative designs or related drawings or details; uses designs to develop specifications or estimates of materials needed for a project with mínimal oversight.
- Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects.
- Trains drafters and designers in complex CAD skills, standards, or procedures

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

7+ years in Energy Industry related field (or equivalent experience in a relatable design role not directly in the Energy Industry)

Drafting Certificate or Related Design Degree (BS, BA)
