Position Summary

The Powertrain Sourcing Specialist II plays a critical role in shaping and managing Polaris’ supplier strategy within the powertrain category. This position leads sourcing initiatives, drives supplier performance, and ensures alignment with the company’s priorities for delivery, quality, cost competitiveness, and successful integration of new products. Acting as a strategic conduit between suppliers and internal teams, this role supports development, launch, and sustained production across multiple manufacturing sites—while strengthening the company’s Mexico supply base.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, ISM C.P.M./A.P.P., or PMP.
- Knowledge of web‑based business systems and analytical tools.
- Interest in engines, manufacturing, or the powersports industry.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing or a relevant field such as sales or engineering.
- Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Position Overview

In this role,



the Powertrain Sourcing Specialist II leads strategy development and day‑to‑day supplier management for assigned categories, with a strong focus on the Mexico supply base. Responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, ensuring alignment on quality, cost, and delivery expectations, and driving supplier performance to meet Polaris standards.

This position oversees sourcing activities such as issuing requests for quotes, evaluating supplier capabilities, conducting total cost of ownership analyses, and executing cost‑reduction initiatives. The role also supports regional efforts in Mexico, including supplier “catches,” tariff mitigation, risk reduction, and improved spend.

Additional responsibilities include managing currency and commodity updates, tooling approvals, payments, lead‑times, and supplier capacity to support on‑time delivery. The position requires ongoing collaboration with Polaris cross‑functional teams to support development, launch, and production of vehicles across multiple facilities. The ability to participate in calls with international suppliers during early or late hours is essential.

This is a fast‑paced office environment located in Plymouth, MN, with travel requirements ranging from 5% to 25%.
