Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement preventive maintenance routines for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work based on forecasted workloads.
- Manage vendors and external contractors for specialized services (HVAC, forklifts, etc.).
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical).
- Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and perform necessary repairs to prevent downtime.
- Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies, including equipment failures and structural issues.
- Safely de-energize equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance activities.
- Handle and properly dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using CMMS.
- Support inventory control of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- Operate forklifts and other industrial vehicles as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in facilities or equipment maintenance,
preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Familiarity with maintenance software systems (CMMS preferred).
- Must obtain and maintain a valid forklift operator license.
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Intermediate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage external contractors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours, as needed.
