Acting as leaders across the organization on design, architecture, and best practice, they elevate those around them and push the company forward.How You'll Do ItOwn & Evolve Systems:Actively own features or systems and define their long-term health, while also improving the health of surrounding systemsView working with product management, product design, stakeholders, and fellow engineers as a collaborative and transparent processContinually refine engineering practices and architectural designs to align with Pie's objectives,



collaborating closely with senior and staff engineers and technology leadershipChampion and promote best practices across the organizationProduce high-quality results by leading or contributing heavily to large cross-functional projects with significant business impactDeliver & Operate:Deliver software using continuous delivery and leverage your experience to enhance delivery pipelinesAssist the support and operations teams in triaging and resolving production issuesContinually build highly modular and reusable code using industry standards and best practicesView on-call rotations as a normal part of software engineering duties, constantly looking for ways to improve operational stability and visibilityMentor & Grow the Team:Mentor other engineers and be deeply involved in the code review processThe Right Stuff4+ years of experience writing server-side APIs leveraging REST and GraphQL2+ years of experience with front-end technologies leveraging server-side rendering (SSR)Experience building complex distributed systems, especially in cloud environmentsSkilled in a wide range of database systems, encompassing both relational and NoSQL, with a comprehensive grasp of their architectures and capabilitiesExperience with public cloud services (AWS preferred)Experience with Scrum or other agile development methodologies and their use in the SDLCStrong focus on engineering scalable and maintainable systems, with attention to code quality, secure code development, and performanceDemonstrated ability to take ownership and drive the completion of key projects that impact organizational KPIsExperience in a product-led organizationStrong understanding and experience with best-in-class CI/CD practices for both frontend and backend systemsDeep architecture and design knowledge with experience in microservices and service-oriented architecture
