About The Role Responsible for ensuring that products consistently perform their intended function, safely and reliably through their entire lifecycle. The Reliability Engineer plays a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction, reducing warranty claims, and strengthening the company's long-term product performance: Ensuring that electronic and mechanical products meet or exceed reliability, durability, and quality expectations throughout their lifecycle, Identifying potential failure modes, Improving product and process robustness, Leading reliability testing, Partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement, Participates and validate, Quality Assurance Laboratory testing and supports components and product testing development. Actively participates in DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R; validations, problem solving. This role owns functional support for Product Development, Sourcing, and Manufacturing, ensuring that products are designed, built, and supported in a way that minimizes failures, maximizes lifetime performance, and protects the company from field issues and warranty risk, and adherence to corporate standards and quality systems. Responsibilities Product Reliability & Testing Develop, plan, and execute reliability test strategies for electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and finished products. Participate in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and other risk-assessment activities. Monitor and analyze accelerated life testing (ALT), HALT/HASS, thermal cycling, vibration testing, environmental stress screening, and electrical overstress analysis. Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and define corrective/preventive actions.



Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement related to Reliability Functions Collaborate in investigation of field failures, warranty returns, and quality incidents to determine causes and drive resolution. Partner with design engineering to improve product robustness and ensure reliability requirements are integrated early in development. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to ensure reliability considerations are incorporated into production processes. Use Six Sigma, DOE, SPC, and other analytical tools to support reliability improvement initiatives. Documentation & Reporting Develop reliability plans, test protocols, reports, and technical documentation. Create metrics and dashboards that track reliability performance across product lines. Communicate findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and management. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with suppliers to assess component reliability, review qualification data, and resolve reliability issues. Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining reliability requirements and validating designs. Participate in design reviews, production readiness reviews, and customer audits as needed. Technical Responsibilities Reliability Requirements & Metrics Define quantitative reliability targets (MTBF, FIT rate, lifetime, survival probability). Collaborate to translate customer, regulatory, and business requirements into engineering specifications. Collaborate to establish environmental and electrical operating limits (temperature, voltage, vibration, humidity). Failure Analysis & Risk Assessment Perform Design FMEA (DFMEA) and Process FMEA (PFMEA, related to reliability functions. Conduct Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) for critical failure paths, related to reliability functions. Identify single-point failures and weak links in electrical systems. Prioritize risks using severity, occurrence, and detectability metrics. Reliability Modeling & Prediction Perform reliability predictions using standards and models (e.g., part stress methods). Build system-level reliability block diagrams (RBDs). Execute Weibull, life data,



and failure rate analysis. Support reliability growth modeling across development phases. Product Testing & Validation Plan and execute reliability test strategies: HALT / HASS Thermal cycling Power cycling Burn-in Environmental and endurance testing Define test conditions, acceptance criteria, and sample sizes. Analyze test data and identify failure patterns or degradation trends. Manufacturing Process Reliability Identify reliability-critical manufacturing steps (soldering, assembly, coating, testing). Analyze early-life failures and infant mortality trends. Support burn-in optimization and screening strategies. Assess impact of process variation on long-term reliability. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product Development, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure reliability requirements and validation designs. Participate in design reviews, production readiness reviews, and customer audits as needed. Promote lessons learned, share improvements and seeks for collaboration with sister plants to create benchmarks. Help and participate in Leviton's 5'S 1. Promote social responsibility in the department Resources, Budget & Cost Management Manage reliability testing, statistical analysis, and other software to enhance departmental capabilities. Work Environment Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. PPE required as appropriate. Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or related field. 2–5 years' reliability engineering, quality engineering, or product testing—preferably in an electronic or high-tech manufacturing environment. Qualifications Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Experience with automotive, aerospace, medical device, or other high reliability industries. Hands on experience in environmental, mechanical, or electrical stress testing laboratories. Strong English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred for specific locations.
