Job Summary:

Brand manager is responsible to lead the creation of marketing strategies for two local sparkling flavor brands in Mexico (Sidral Mundet and Fresca).

This position will give the opportunity to demonstrate abilities to develop branding and positioning expertise for two of the most important brands in Mexico.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

- Leads development and/or actualization of the brand vision and architecture.

- Leads development of annual and multi-year brand growth strategies and business plans by detecting Brand and business opportunities through value added analysis from situation assessment, market, trends, consumer behavior & motivations, brand & category performance.

To later align with Front Line the annual goals and budget.

- Partners with internal (e.g. R&D, Supply Chain, Commercial, Zones) and external (e.g. customers, bottlers, suppliers) stakeholders to develop new and/or improved products, packaging and programs to meet consumer needs, deliver against brand strategies and drive System value/business objectives.

- Drives commercialization of brand positioning, innovation, consumer communications/messaging and shopper marketing to deliver brand objectives via clear direction/guidance and effective resource allocation decisions.

- Develop and communicate written briefs for use by agencies or suppliers (e.g., creative, advertising, packaging, product development, media, consumer promotions, merchandising, licensed or specialty merchandise, etc.) to direct their work activities in order to generate concepts for effective execution.

- Support the Front Line team in Mexico by communicating the national strategy to bottlers, brief and follow up promotional initiatives and brand experience, develop and customize of marketing materials to the different regional realities and lead the internal approval requirements for different marketing materials.

Organization Impact/Influence:

Must interact with high level & mid level managers in KO and Bottler. Must interact with several cross functional areas. Must secure continuous collaboration at multiple levels of Front Line & Bottler organization. Manage work with multiple agency partners creative, media, digital, CIC, PR – branded and unbranded.

Related Job Requirements/Qualifications:

5+ Years position-related (working with local brands)/ multinational FMCG background preferred.


Mexican consumer understanding: experience analyzing the Mexican consumer, it cultural context, competitive context & trends to translate into relevant insights for the brands/business strategy & Plans.

Brand management: knowledge of core marketing concepts (i.e. Brand positioning, Brand Architecture, swot anyalysis, etc) to build brand equity & develop marketing plans.

Marketing operations: knowledge of basic operating concepts (i.e. channels, OBPPC, RGM, trade/consumer promotions, etc).

Agile Methodology way of working to set priorities and solve relatively complex problems to advance on the implementation of plans.

Creative development & evaluation: ability to develop business/creative briefs and assess creative concepts and executions based on the alignment to the brand communication strategy & consumer relevance.

Innovation Pipeline Definition.

Financial understanding to ensure profitable leadership. P&L understanding. Ability to build solid business cases.

Passionate team player. A “Shaper” of ideas, strategies and communication, solution problems platforms.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor degree. Master’s degree is highly valued.

Preferred qualifications: Business Administration / Marketing / Engineer.

Cultural Diversity:

English and Spanish fluent conversational is required for communicating with Corporate, LAG, OU and bottlers.
