Para Pro Ex Ed - SY2021-22-(21003130)Description JOBSUMMARY & PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS REPORTSTO: School Principal DEPARTMENTNAME: Leadership and Learning JOB SUMMARY (2-3 sentences):Instructs studentsindividually and in groups using various teaching methods such as lectures,discussions and demonstrations. This position teaches elementary grades. PRIMARYJOB FUNCTIONS: List, inthe order of time spent, the essential tasks performed by the position. Employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required. Job Responsibility 1: Plans daily lessons to meet the needs of all students and assists students needing additional support. Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Job Responsibility 2: Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and homework assignments. Communicates those objectives to students. Job Responsibility 3: Establishes and enforces rules of behavior and procedures for maintaining order in their classroom. Job Responsibility 4: Confers with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. Job Responsibility 5: Designs and implements assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and identifies gaps in learning. Uses assessment data to refine curriculum and adjust instructional practices. Job Responsibility 6: Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities and homework assignments. Creates a positive achievement-oriented learning environment. Job Responsibility 7: Participates in collaborative curriculum development and grade-level and/or school activities. Job Responsibility 8: Participates in ongoing professional development activities. GENERALRESPONSIBILITIES, REQUIREMENTS, AND IMPACTS DATARESPONSIBILITY: “DataResponsibility” refers to information, knowledge, and conceptions obtained byobservation, investigation, interpretation, visualization, and mentalcreation. Data are intangible andinclude numbers, words, symbols, ideas, concepts, and oral verbalizations. Coordinatesor determines time, place, or sequence of operations or activities based onanalysis of data and possibly executes determinations or reports on events. PEOPLERESPONSIBILITY: “PeopleResponsibility” refers to individuals who have contact with or are influencedby the position. Instructsor trains others through explanation, demonstration, and supervised practice,or by making recommendations on the basis of technical disciplines. ASSETSRESPONSIBILITY: “AssetsResponsibility” refers to the responsibility for achieving economies orpreventing loss within the organization. Requiresresponsibility and opportunity for achieving considerable economies and/orpreventing considerable losses through the management of a minor department,and/or handling of very large amounts of money. MATHEMATICALREQUIREMENTS: “Mathematics”deals with quantities, magnitudes, and forms and their relationships andattributes by the use of numbers and symbols. Usesaddition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; may compute ratios, rates,and percentages. COMMUNICATIONSREQUIREMENTS: “Communications”involves the ability to read, write, and speak. Readsjournals and manuals; composes specialized reports and business letters usingproper format and grammar; speaks to groups of coworkers and people outside theorganization. COMPLEXITY OFWORK: “Complexityof Work” addresses the analysis, initiative, ingenuity, creativity, andconcentration required by the position and the presence of any unusualpressures. Performswork involving the application of logical principles and thinking to solvepractical problems within or applying to a unit or division of theorganization; requires continuous, close attention for accurate results andfrequent exposure to unusual pressure. IMPACT OFDECISIONS: “Impact of Decisions” refers toconsequences such as damage to property, loss of data or property, exposure ofthe organization to legal liability, or injury or death to individuals. Makesdecisions with serious impact - affects most units in organization, and mayaffect citizens. EQUIPMENT USAGE:“EquipmentUsage” refers to inanimate objects such as substances, materials, machines,tools, equipment, work aids, or products. A thing is tangible and has shape, form, and other physicalcharacteristics. Establishesmethods and procedures for acquiring and handling machines, tools, equipment,or work aids involving extensive latitude for judgment regarding attainment ofstandard or in selecting appropriate items. SAFETY OF OTHERS: “Safety of Others”refers to the responsibility for other people’s safety, either inherent in thejob or to assure the safety of the general public. Requiresconsiderable responsibility for the safety and health of others and/orcontinuous enforcement of the laws and standards of public health and safety. EDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONREQUIREMENTS: “EducationRequirements” refers to job specific training and education required for entryinto the position. Bachelors’degree in education or related degree. LICENSES,CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: “Licenses,Certifications, and Registrations” refers to professional, state, or federallicenses, certifications, or registrations required to enter the position. Musthave a current Tennessee Teaching certificate or be in an eligible alternativelicensure program. EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS: “ExperienceRequirements” refers to the amount of work experience that is required forentry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that theperson can perform the tasks required by the position. Priorteaching experience preferred. Morespecific degree, certification, and experience requirements will be included inthe position announcement as vacancies occur. AMERICANS WITHDISABILITIES REQUIREMENTS PHYSICAL DEMANDS: “Physical Demands” refers to therequirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Standingand walking: generally 6 hours per day (fullduty) Liftingand carrying: frequently lifting 20 lbsand occasionally lifting 70 lbs Pushand pull: unlimited grasp and fingering Dexterity: ability to operate machines, tools or officeequipment Additionalrequirements: unlimited reaching toshoulder height; frequently climbs stairs/ladders; exposure to heat extremes. UNAVOIDABLEHAZARDS: “UnavoidableHazards” refers to unusual conditions in the work environment that may causeillness or injury. Theposition is exposed to extreme heat/cold, wet or humid conditions, bright/dimlights, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors, movingmechanical parts, electrical shock, traffic, and toxic or caustic chemicals. SENSORY (ADA)REQUIREMENTS: “SensoryRequirements” refers to hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell necessary toperform the tasks required by the position efficiently. Theposition requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, speaking,color perception, sense of smell, and texture perception.
