The GPS ME Controls Engineer provides support to the manufacturing areas (operations and maintenance) in the problem solving, as well as drive for continuous improvement of the processes, keep the technology updated and leads the implementation of standard Controls & Automation technologies that allow machines to perform complex manufacturing processes. The technical skills of the Controls Engineer allow him/her to ensure that the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs):
a) follow GM’s specifications to build GM’s machinery,
b) deliver fully functional equipment on the GM target date to fulfill the manufacturing operations requirements.
It is required to have knowledge of: Controls & Automation, e lectrical/Electronics, Information Systems and Networks, Robotics, Vision and Laser Systems, Fluid Power.
