This role is responsible to function as an Agile Coach or Scrum Coach with overall responsibility for coaching agile teams in the methodology to ensure the successful planning, tracking and execution of multiple, simultaneous, small to medium complexity projects. This position is also responsible for the identification, maintenance, and enhancement of PM and other artifacts to efficiently accommodate the agile methodology including processes, tools, techniques, templates, samples, and gathering research materials on leading agile practices.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal customers and teams to develop and maintain project and/or program artifacts, such as scope, approach, solution, plan, resources, estimates, etc.
Educate employees at all levels, including senior, and at times clients, on Agile principles; develop, track and manage project forecasts and costs; request budget allocation and reallocations; ensure project and /or program is within budget; manage and control changes to scope
Mentor daily scrum meetings, planning meetings, and retrospective sessions ensuring Agile best practices are followed.
As a mentor, the Agile Coach is responsible for guiding teams into the Agile methodology, providing teams with feedback and means of improvement, provide hands-on support to all employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles.
Adhere and contribute to project management standards and processes, including tools and reporting; mentor and train less experienced team members on standards, processes and tools
Establish positive and collaborative relationships with customers and demonstrate a clear understanding of both internal and external customer requirements and success criteria; integrate and align with other departmental processes and solutions
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Years of Experience: 5-8
Qualifications:
- Ability to coach 3 - 5 medium risk Agile projects and/or one program of small to medium complexity projects concurrently, including multi-phase, multi-track projects with up to 30 project team members
- Experience as a ScrumMaster, leading Agile ceremonies, facilitating scrum teams, measuring team velocity, reporting on team progress, and removing impediments for assigned team(s) as well as coordinating a Sprint backlog in conjunction with Product Owner and team members
- Strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban, experience as a Scrum master and with the Agile methodology, knowledge of Agile software development; strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Project management experience that includes full lifecycle software development, IT transformation and infrastructure deployment methodologies and industry best practices
- Strong verbal/written communication, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority. Must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and team work.
- Strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to participate in resource planning processes based on defined organizational plans.
