The Driving and Sensing Functions Manager will lead a large team (40+) of Automotive Algorithm Engineers, focused on developing algorithms for production-intent automotive electronic control units (ECUs). The team works alongside local and global HW and SW development teams, producing advanced radar, camera, and fusion systems, for automotive OEMs. The DSF Manager is tasked with ensuring that his team produce state-of-the-art algorithms, both on-time and of the highest quality.

The team currently maintains numerous projects, ranging from acquisition to post-production support. Current development includes, but is not limited to: radar environmental modeling (EM), blind spot detection (BSD),

trailer reverse assist (TRA), trailer sensing functions (TSF), and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). Within these projects the responsibilities range from project leadership roles, to development and Simulation in Loop (SIL) testing.

The DSF Manager for Queretaro will act as a location manager for ADAS, assuring that the global strategy defined for the location is implemented, while also addressing local needs and strategic development.

Core Responsibilities:

- Team Maintenance: Headcount planning, interviewing and training of new team members
- Supervise and Develop Leadership: Directly supervise a team of 4+ group leaders, each with a team of engineers
- Strategy Development: Work with NA management to better position the location for future growth
- Budget Maintenance: Plan and and maintain cost center budget throughout the year
- Team Support: Support projects and engineers during escalations, and help implement change to improve future projects
- Technical Support: Provide project leadership, development, and test support, as need
- Reporting: Generate and present progress reports to both local and regional management


Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in an engineering related discipline - Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Physics

- 5+ years of algorithm/sw development experience, in large scale version-controlled complex architecture projects
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Familiarity with popular algorithms (Kalman Filter, PID Control, Computer Vision, Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence)
- Experience with multiple programming languages, including both high-level and low-level languages (C/C++, Python, Matlab)
- Familiarity with traditional SW Testing Techniques (e.g. Unit Testing, Blackbox Testing)
- Experience with embedded systems (with strict memory and run-time requirements)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (Presentations, Test reports, etc.) (Spanish & English)
- Work in a team environment, strong initiative, self motivated and flexible
- Logical problem solver, pays attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/PhD in an engineering related discipline - Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Physics

- 5+ years of algorithm/sw development experience in automotive industry
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Familiarity with automotive SW tools/concepts (Autosar, CAN/ethernet, CANalyzer/CANoe, DOORs)
- Expert level knowledge in at least one ADAS related algorithm (Path planning, Object Detection, Advanced Controls, etc..)
- Experience planning and maintaining budget
