Reporting to the Manager of the Asset Reliability Team, this position is
responsible for the development, planning and management of multi-year work
management programs related to TransCanada’s asset operations, maintenance,
and capital programs to achieve asset reliability that meets commercial and
regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Program Planner will work
collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Asset Reliability,
and Capital Project Management departments to identify intermediate to long-
term activities, resource requirements and initiate the planning/forecasting
process to achieve the asset management objectives and effective resource
planning. This position is also responsible for the creation, maintenance, and
reporting of detailed work management plans as well as the optimization of SAP
Plant Maintenance master data.
-Develop, manage, publish and communicate, and gain acceptance on the long-term Program Plan and forecast related to field asset operations, maintenance and capital programs. Includes communicating with leadership for validation and/or modification;
-Develop annual maintenance Program Plans to contribute to annual budgeting, resourcing, and workload levelling to ensure resource availability matches the available work;
-Ensure timely and quality data entry of Equipment Entity and the related Preventative Maintenance information in SAP’s Plant Maintenance module;
-Review, analyze and report on asset work programs, maintenance indicators and resource demand forecasts;
-Ensure program alignment with the Corporate Maintenance Planning Program standards
-Validate resource availability and activity coordination to complete the work identified in the Program Plan with local work planners;
-Facilitate necessary adjustments to the Program Plan with appropriate departments or groups removing work, and reassigning work and or resources. Identify opportunities when field areas can better use contract labor to execute work more efficiently;
-Collaborate with Commercial Operations to create outage requests and build outage plans for turnover to local work planners for final detail execution;
-Creation of various reporting and performance metrics for Management Teams. Analyze and report on effectiveness of the Program Plan;
-Work with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the organization to ensure alignment of Engineering Standards to Work Order generation;
-Able to identify master data problems and recommend solutions to optimize processes and procedures;
-Proactive communication to Management, Major Projects, Commercial, Engineering, and the field areas to ensure understanding of future plans and any modifications which may occur affecting any of these key stakeholders;
-Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
-Bilingual in Spanish and English at a conversational level or higher;
-Strong understanding of oil & gas, and/or pipeline facility operations and field maintenance practices;
-Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance module, Avantis or Maximo maintenance planning computer applications;
-Prioritization skills and the ability to manage numerous and complex processes simultaneously;
-Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills;
-Ability and commitment to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment;
-Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general computer skills including file management, accuracy in data entry, and basic troubleshooting skills;
-Engineering or advanced education/training;
-Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
-Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance Module or other maintenance planning software applications is strongly preferred;

This position will require travel across borders and as such the candidate
