service focused. The experience we would expect the ideal person to deliver
SunPower is expanding its system sales business, which includes both
components (PV, BOS) and complete solution kits.  We are seeking a Regional
Sales Director to drive system sales in Latin America.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may
be assigned.
-Generate system sales bookings, revenue, and margin according to plan.
-Build relationships with executives and other key personnel at target customers including electric utility personnel, solar systems integrators, suppliers, and distributors.
-Develop sales execution plans and win strategies for target accounts and assigned territories.
-Expand pipeline of sales opportunities by generating and qualifying high quality leads.
-Manage all aspects of a complex sales process to successful closing including contract negotiations.
-Collaborate with colleague departments including Project Finance, Legal, Construction Services, O&M; in support of sales process.
-Collaborate with Product Management and Product Marketing to refine system kit offerings and customer value proposition.
-Collaborate with regional Power Plant, Commercial, and Residential Business Unit leaders to identify and target high value customer opportunities while minimizing conflict with existing full-service business opportunities.
-Collaborate with policy/regulatory and marketing groups to identify and develop new market opportunities and refine customer value propositions.
-Maintain account information and pipeline reports in CRM software.
-This position will be based in Mexico City, MX or Santiago, Chile.
-Frequent travel (25%) required, with minimum quarterly travel to US SunPower offices, depending on business unit interaction.
Education and Experience
-University degree in engineering, economics or business. MBA strongly preferred.
-10+ years in energy industry component sales, including 5+ years in solar industry sales leadership.
-Network of solar industry contacts including potential customers across the value chain to include utility industry executives, large-scale solar EPC and O&M; providers, equipment suppliers, financiers, regulators and commercial & industrial customers.
-Experience in energy industry, large construction, and/or project finance.
-Selling $50-100M+ projects over extended sales cycles to first-time and repeat buyers for whom multiple stakeholders influence the buying decision.
-Experience introducing new product and service offerings, and developing corresponding value propositions.
-Fluency in Spanish and English.

-Ability to perform and interpret financial analysis and provide appropriate data and information.
-Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
-Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
-Strong team building, coaching and mentoring skills.
-Entrepreneurial, self-starter with a burning desire to learn and win.
-Effective at creating, summarizing, and presenting information logically for executive decision making.
-Knowledge of finance and business concepts, including energy industry project finance and solar equipment contracting norms.
-Results-oriented with the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, in an entrepreneurial environment.
-Highly collaborative and flexible.
-MBA strongly preferred.
-CRM Salesforce experience preferred.
