Primary Job Responsibilities:The Analytics Manager (Emerging Markets) is responsible for (i) monitoring and analyzing trends of key operational and financial metrics, (ii) comparing our metrics with competition and (iii) drafting strategic recommendations for the business. The position is based in Mexico and reports to the Head of Analytics for eBay Classifieds Global Growth Group which is part of the Finance organization.
As an analytics professional, you should be experienced in using data to drive strategy and product innovations. You understand how businesses operate and use data and advanced modeling techniques to better understand the dynamics of the systems that you are working with. You have the communication style that will allow you to engage with senior leaders and deliver high impact analysis that will result in actionable results. You are an ambitious individual who will utilize your exceptional problem-solving, analytic, communication skills and business acumen to provide data-driven recommendations to enhance business performance.
Job Requirements:
Analysis & Insights
- Develop and communicate qualitative and quantitative insights that help drive the business
- Understand the dynamics and drivers of key metrics; provide business recommendations to drive traffic and user engagement
- Partner with various groups to determine business needs, understand constraints and collaborate on possible approaches related to various business intelligence challenges
- Develop an understanding of customer and competitor dynamics by extracting information from a diverse array of sources
- Persuasively communicate insights and recommendations across the organization
Reporting, Business Analytics, Data Acquisition & Management
- Leverage the full breadth of data sources and analytic resources
- Ensure reliable and consistent data capture and availability for all relevant data
- Develop dashboards (daily, weekly and monthly); both automated and manual across multiple data sets to measure and track performance against KPIs
- Develop analytical models for user engagement, marketing effectiveness, revenue yield, product improvements, budgeting
- Strong background in quantitative thinking and data analysis
- Strong presentation and communication skills, experience with PowerPoint
- Ability to take data, identify key insights, convey message to non-technical audience
- Familiarity with analytics, statistical & visualization tools: e.g. Google Analytics, Optimizely, Adjust, Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Excel, etc.
- Business acumen and ability to turn quantitative insights into strategic recommendations
- Degree in mathematics, engineering, economics, or related field. MBA is a plus.
