Role Summary/Purpose: The Renewal Parts Material Planner’s primary role is to
drive as required material input/output management and improve On time
delivery. Work cross functionally on Internal/External customer orders with
commercial and fulfillment teams to understand and manage demand.
Essential Responsibilities: The Materials Planner 5 demonstrates leadership in
communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business
segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve
problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the
ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
· Responsible for material planning and inventory metrics across a service
· Monitor the results of changes to the inventory plan/forecast and recommend
· Plan for prevention of excess inventory and “stock outs”
· Improve material availability (Reserve On Time) metric
· Work with all levels of personnel (hourly, supervisory, and general
foreperson) in resolving issues, tracking material availability, and advising
on material usage
· Work with customers externally and internally to identify new opportunities
to improve our current processes as well as design and implement progressive
management processes and systems based on Lean and Six Sigma for control and
replenishment of materials
· Promote customer satisfaction and develop positive customer relationships
· Identify and react to material plans that do not meet customer requirements
and monitor implementation of corrective action plans
· Analyze and measure the current production status and identify problem areas
that inhibit full schedule realization
· Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve
customer service levels and reduce total costs
Qualifications/Requirements: · Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
or college (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in
a materials planning or project management position)
· At least 3 additional years of experience in a materials planning or project
management and planning role
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics: · Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish
effective work priorities· Prior experience in production control or planning,
supervision, sourcing, or a materials control environment is preferred· Team
player with ability to work effectively in all environments· Prior experience
in negotiations is preferred· Proven analytical ability· Strong problem
solving skills, sound judgment, and diplomacy· Ability to manage multiple
tasks and establish effective work priorities· Ability to execute planning and
scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using advanced planning
system· Six Sigma training is preferred· Strong oral and written communication
skills· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
