The Business Entity
Cisco’s Digital marketing organization will lead the evolution in customer
experience through promotion of Cisco products and software through digital
channels (web, social, media, mobile, direct mail, point of sale, etc..). This
team will enable marketing to analyze marketing campaigns and understand what
is working and what isn’t – typically in real time.
The Team
This role has the unique opportunity to shape, influence, and create digital
experiences that build the Cisco digital brand and accelerate Cisco business.
This position is responsible for developing our overall digital media strategy
and executing these efforts to increase customer engagement. You will lead the
optimization of all our media channels with a portfolio approach to deliver
efficiency & ROI. In this role, you will also analyze our campaign results to
draw data-driven insights for our business, manage vendor relations, and
contribute to our goals of driving cost-effective sales.
Role & Responsibilities
– Develop media strategy and allocate media budget across the brand-to-demand
funnel to achieve marketing and revenue goals
– Work with Customer Experience Managers and campaign teams to integrate
media into campaign strategies
– Work with agencies/vendors to define scope, recommend measurable plans,
budgeting, and creative execution for paid digital media campaigns
– Participate in creative reviews to ensure concepts and assets meet brief
requirements and deliver the message effectively
– Work with campaign stakeholders to brief the media agency on campaign
objectives, budget, KPIs, target audience, market considerations, and purchase
– Review agency recommendations to ensure optimum channel mix and socialize
plan with stakeholders
– Approve plan and deliver assets required for execution, ensuring they meet
the creative specs for planned placements
– Develop our SEO strategy and ensure search keywords align to ads, content,
and landing pages
– Manage efficiencies in keyword strategy & ensure top keywords result in
Cisco content showing up in high positions
– Manage the planning, execution, real-time-bidding optimization, and
reporting of programmatic media campaigns
– Analyze trends to draw data-driven insights and share best
practices/recommendations on effective digital media tactics to stakeholders
– Apply testing methodologies and analyze performance for campaign
– Manage campaign execution issues and questions, including incremental funds
and shifting of existing funds to optimize results
Minimum Qualifications
– BA/BS in digital media, business, communications, journalism, marketing,
data science, or related field
– 5 years of experience in developing integrated B2B media campaigns across
multiple devices (mobile first) and media channels, including strategy &
execution; agency experience a plus
– Strong experience with optimizing SEO/keyword strategies, programmatic
media and data-driven campaign strategies for a large B2B technology
– Experience with optimization and performance analysis across multiple
mediums and channels, especially digital (programmatic, paid search, social,
native, and content syndication) to help determine the optimal channel mix
– Understanding of ad-serving platforms, DMPs, ad tagging, attribution logic,
testing, and tracking results, including experience with various web
publishing & digital marketing tools: Eloqua, Unica, BlueKai, Google AdWords,
Sprinklr, Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Test & Target, LinkedIn, Tealium,
DoubleClick (DCM)
– Knowledge of web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and Omniture)
and data analysis
– Understanding of the integration of media with marketing automation
– Strong knowledge of the digital marketing industry, trends and new
– Demonstrated ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships
with vendors, partners and internal teams
– Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
– Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Desired Skills
– Passionate about measuring what matters, developing test & learn paid media
frameworks, & communicating with key stakeholders about ongoing opportunities
for optimizing media to align with business outcomes
– Experience with visualization software: Salesforce, Tableau, SAS Visual
– Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable
insights for the business
– Ability to lead cross functionally in a highly matrixed environment
– Exceptional communication and organizational skills
– Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven
– Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-
departmental team
– Experience with the technology industry and one or more verticals a plus
