Role Summary/Purpose: As a Digital Section Manager, you will be responsible
for building multiple software products as well as leading the software
organization focused on our Power Plant customers in Latin America. This
position will establish the strategy and drive the business quarterly and
yearly goals. The role contributes to the overall regional Power Digital
Strategy and manages complex issues within and outside functional areas of
Essential Responsibilities: 1.Responsible of Developing and Execution of the
Digital Engineering Strategy within his/her Section.
2.Develop and Manage the digital project portfolio.
3.Ensure Section meets goals, objectives and expectations by establishing &
monitoring budget, programs and plans. Identify Synergy opportunities among
his/her subsections and teams.
4.Work with Product Line owners across the businesses to understand market
needs & vision; quickly translate that vision into demonstrable software or
digital solutions.
5.Work directly with customers to understand business and technical needs.
6.Manage his/her teams to develop multi generation software technology/product
7.Manage complex technology programs to facilitate the harvesting, ingestion
and digestion of equipment operating and market data through smart analytics
and visualization solutions.
8.Own and manage the multiple MVPs and product development schedules and
9.Maintain broad awareness of technical efforts within the work group in order
to assure technical excellence, timely completion of work and reviews,
appropriate use of resources and consistency of methods across programs,
within his/her Section.
10.Coach, mentor and lead a diverse group of lean/agile software and user
experience engineers
11.Drive increased quality & efficiency across the teams, eliminating
duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse.
12.Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities
and deliverables.

Ensure employees receive the training and guidance needed to broaden
responsibilities and technical contribution
– BS degree plus 12 years of professional experience. Degree in Computer
Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
– At least 3 years of experience in an Operative Manager role.
– Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific
technical topics or assignments.
– Demonstrated Project Management skills (PMI, CMMI, Agile, etc) or the
ability to document, plan, market, execute, control, close and manage
programs, projects, orders, activities or systems.
– Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day English fluid conversation on
any topic with few mistakes (mistakes that will not affect getting the message
through). Must have fluency and rhythm and sufficient self-confidence in the
English language to be able to handle meetings and conversations.
– Demonstrated ability to lead in highly matrixed environment
– Ability to translate strategic direction into tactical deliverables
– Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility.
– Able to work under minimal supervision.
– Able to evangelize how our technology solves customer problems from a
technology and business perspective.
– Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf
of the team.
– Able to build a cooperation network across the GE organization.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics:
– Knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns
and Java coding principles. Experience or knowledge of coding on Predix.
– Black Belt certified
