Role Summary/Purpose: Roles will typically be aligned to specific businesses
or sectors. Individuals will generally either be located at, and only support,
a specific site.
Leads execution of EHS related activities & goals while supporting the
execution of all plant metrics.
Essential Responsibilities: Individuals located at manufacturing sites and
fixed facilities (, a service shop or O&M; site) that provide day-to-day
EHS support for that facility. Develops annual plan for own unit and delivers
data for the programs of encompassing units in the function or in the business
and midterm plans.
1.Owns and drives reduction of safety incidents and occurrences.
2.Leads increase of concern reporting, EHS findings, and other proactive EHS
3.Leads all EHS compliance related activities.
4.Leads & coordinates permit reviews and compliance to all related laws and GE
5.Monitors and audits housekeeping and EHS related best practices.
6.Drives closure/resolution of employee issues related to ergonomics, health,
7.Supports projects focused on improvements in safety, quality, cost,
inventory, & customer satisfaction.
8.Integrates and shares Best Practices with other GE businesses to drive
improvement of processes.
9.Identifies areas of improvement that will impact ergonomics and the general
climate of the production personnel.
10.Provide clear consistent leadership that is aligned with the business
objectives and maintain union free status.
11.Select, hire, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction
of assigned personnel
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
or college. Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in EHS – Fixed
BS Degree in Engineering, Technology, or EHS Field
– Minimum 5 years EHS leadership experience
– Desire for hands on approach to resolving opportunities/issues
– GB Certified
– Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
– Strong analytical skills
– Prior experience as a EHS engineer working with manufacturing process
– Prior experience with permit requirements for compliance
– Strong organizational skills
– Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadline
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
– Ability to anticipate organization needs and ensure that they are met
– Strong oral and written communication skills (Bilingual)
