The Team
We now have an opening for an experienced product manager to run a services
portfolio and develop new service releases. The Product Manager within the
Portfolio Management team is responsible for managing and evolving the service
portfolio for Cloud & IT Transformation architecture by partnering with AS
innovation practice teams, Center of Excellence delivery engineers, architects
and managers using their domain expertise and knowledge in the Cloud & IT
Transformation technologies.
Role & Responsibilities
Data Center and Networking is one of Cisco’s major focus areas and is
experiencing rapid growth. From ground breaking products including the Cisco
Nexus data center switches and Cisco Unified Computing, to industry leading
solutions including Cloud Computing and Software-Defined Networking, Cisco
Advanced Services is driving the growth and customer adoption of each of these
exciting areas.
– Understand Cisco’s customer business models and their Data Center, Cloud,
Networking (Enterprise and SP), IT Service Management-related needs
– Advocate on customers’ behalf within Cisco to prioritize and develop a
roadmap for services development and ensure that their service needs are met
– Manage the overall portfolio requirements and assure the services are
meeting Cisco business goals (bookings, margin, attach rate, customer
– Partner heavily with applicable architecture leaders (Center of Excellence
delivery engineers, architectures and managers using their domain expertise
and knowledge) in AS and with the AS product management and other cross-
functional teams, to ensure that new service offers are developed based on
customer need and competitive positioning in the market
Minimum Qualifications
– Proven experience as a service portfolio manager, service product manager,
or product manager
– A solid understanding of the Data Center and IT Transformation space,
customer needs, Cisco and competitor technologies, and industry trends
– A strong understanding of the Cisco Services portfolio
– Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence actions of team members
outside of function
Desired Skills
– Ability to identify, prioritize and deliver measurable results using
frameworks and sound business practices, understanding cross-functional
– Strong business and technical writing skills, coupled with strong
presentation skills
– Well-developed teamwork, collaboration and project management skills
